xtl2500/5000 prices

Post by rfiles »

How much would a brand new from the shop would a xtl2500/5000 be? If someone could post a price list it would be great. This would be a purchase on behalf of an organization and maybe w/ state contract prices.. Just want to see if our normal supplier is giving us good prices.

The running joke is the model of the radio is the cost.

XTL1500 = $1500.00
XTL2500 = $2500.00
XTL5000 = $5000.00

If you have a state contract then you don't need to ask anyone for pricing, just refer to the contract. If you want MSRP then feel free to Google the New York State contract... it has MSRP for pretty much every Astro25 radio and option and beyond. Otherwise you will need to contact your local rep.

Did a Google search and couldn't come up with it. Do you have a direct link?

Looking over the price list I see something that is a little confusing.
Lets say I ordered a XTS5000 H18KEC9PW5 N and did not list any options. Would I get a working radio?
The reason I ask is H35 Conventional Systems Operations is a $800.00 option. Dont most non-P25 enabled radios come with H35 and Q241 Analog Operation Only as standard features? What does H35 do that Q241 does not?

Actually the order would be rejected. Think of it like ordering a car.

1st. Declare which model. You mentioned a "W5" which is a model 1 no display, no keypad basic chassis.

2nd. Operating mode Pick Q241 if you want an analog only radio (uses Motorola only software), or
Q806 for CAI P25. This charge covers the license agreement for P25. Even an upgrade for P25 costs this amount too.

3rd System Enhancement Software. You have to declare what kind of system this radio will work in.
H35 is a conventional (non trunking) version.
H37 is SmartNet trunking
H38 is SmartZone Trunking.
The other options, are enhancements if your using trunking: Q173, Q361, Q387.

4th Adapter - will you run this radio with an external antenna relay? (Q44)

5th Algorithm Options - Do you want any kind of encryption (for use in P25 mode of operation?)
This is for a hardware encryption. Usually you start off with a UCM module Q159 and add
an algorithm or two. Else, software ADP is availible for $10 or less (get it anyway if you don't get a hardware
board...)

6th line - what kind of Battery do you want? Pick one.

7th line - belt clip - pick one option. Get one or don't.

8th line - options like programming, Ruggedized Housing, Service Options (extended warranty),
encryption Software Encryption - Q667 ADP, Zone Operation.

The last sections are for chargers and stuff besides the radio itself.

Its really like ordering a car - you specify the type of service, motor, options etc.
If you miss one of the first 6 lines, the factory most likely kick the order back to who inputted it.

I hope this helps.

With the ASTRO (not ASTRO25) series radios, you could "just order a radio" and it would be H35. In short - these days you have to specify everything.
