sva repeater
i have a few sva's laying around. and now i want to make a portable repeater with 2 of them.
ive used the search but i cant find any good information about wiring them together.
after looking at the pin outs for the sva and the gm300 non r.i.c.k. interface cable. i came up with the following option.
m=microphone connector
a=accessory connector
sva 1 sva 2
m6(ptt)--------------------------a5(high on squelch open)
a5(high on squelch open)---m6(ptt)
a20(audio+)-------------------m5(mic)
m5(mic)-------------------------a20(audio+)
a2(v-)---------------------------m4(gnd)
m4(gnd)------------------------a2(v-)
is this going to work or do i need something else?

Re: sva repeater
I have a few too and thought about using two for a portable repeater setup.
To start with i had gm300 cables. I chopped off the maxtrac end.
Havent gone much further as im still looking for my vertex cable so i can reprogram them first.

Re: sva repeater
Way ahead of you... You need to isolate the audio (1:1 transformer) from the speaker and set an acceptable level for the transmit audio. Make it easy on yourself and turn off de/pre-emphasis on the repeater channel. Also, turn the power down to 2W or you'll cook the battery.
Oh, and you're gonna need some cans.

Are you talking about the SVA's?
You have to supply a powered speaker or go to an amplifier off the DB25 connector.
Reads Left to Right
pin 5 - PA SQUELCH
pin 7 - 1/2 WATT AUDIO (COMM) which is tied to pin 21
pin 8 - 1/2 WATT AUDIO which is tied to pin 20 and also goes to PA1 (AUDIO SENSE) on U6 microcomputer
pin 20 - PA AUDIO
pin 21 - PA AUDIO (COMM)
You have to use the NSN6054A or a 12 watt (or what ever power you want) external speaker.0
You could also tap off the DB25 for the connections to tie the two SVA's together
pin 14 - MIC
pin 15 - SWITCH

Re: sva repeater
no.. were talking about pyramid svr-200 vehicular repeaters. I have a couple of units. Looking at interfacing two together to make a low power portable repeater.

Silly me, my mistake, I assumed buy the heading “SVA REPEATER” that he was talking about the Saber Vehicle Adapter. Re: sva repeater
This sounds like it will be a fun FrankenMod.
I also have a bunch of SVA's, so keep us posted as to your progress and any interfaces that you come up with.
There are some components in line on the SVA pcb. Read this post: http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=89449

What model of saber were you thinking of using for the repeter?

Re: sva repeater
Just to give you a heads up.
I am designing a NTN4593 that will have 1.2 volt, 10 farad supercaps that will replace the regular cells to see if it will work with the SVA so you don't need to use a regular Battery. So if it works you don't need to worry about cooking a good battery.
