cdm 1250 wont power up. read to find out why....

Post by wb2bm »

Here is the deal. Have a supposedly new 1250 (did not look new long story).. Anyway the ignition sense did not turn the radio on during power up after an officer of mine installed it. It did power up by pushing the power button on until... I went to the rss and programmed the power on portion to ignition sense only. (what a bonehead move i know) Now,, you guessed it it won't power up at all now. Question is: how do i get it to power up as I can not program the radio if its not on?

It will power up now. The RSS in my other computer worked with the power off to the radio. Ignition sense still will not work however. At least I can use it now.

The ignition sense circuit could have gotten fried, I've seen that happen once or twice, I think it's been discussed on the board before as well. This could be caused by improper connection or a voltage spike.

A common fault is an open trace on the pin 10 line. We typically install a jumper in the radio to bypass the open trace.
