VRM650

Post by Sarge, USMC »

Anyone know what the deal is with setting tx dev on these damned things? RD-LAP 19.2 dev settings are 5.6 +/-, and I can set them using WinRSS but they don't "stay" at the level I set them to.
I still don't have any documentation.

Anyone?

I agree with Glenn. It's not a set and forget, you've got to program things back into the VRM when you're done. They really aren't that difficult to work with, not sure why you're having problems.

I'm using the WinRSS to set RD-LAP 19.2 deviation levels to 5.6 +/- as indiacted inthe help file.
There is no "program" button. "Close" button initiates a cold start of the unit, but if I go back into the dev menu, levels are back where they were.

What amI doing wrong?

The settings should stay after clicking 'close', although you might want to click 'stop' first to unkey the transmitter. I tried it both ways and it kept the change I made.

Is it going back to the original setting right away, ie. change setting - close adjustment screen - go back into adjustment screen - settings are back to original, or are doing something else in between such as shutting off the VRM?

Are the settings it goes back to something reasonable, or are they way off from where you'd expect to see them?

There's a battery in the control head.. not sure if that being bad would cause this.
