MCS2000 and QCII Decoding, Need Help Guys!!!

Post by Mikey »

OK, long story short this is what happened, i Had a MCS2000 110 Watt Modell 2 Mobile that didn't have the QCII option in it, I wanted to have the radio do horn honk when the QCII tones where decoded so i sent the thing into the Depot to have the option flashed into the radio. They flashed the radio, and screwed the control head firmware up and sent it back to me with a control head that didn't work and so it went back to the depot for a rework. Finally got it back today after about a month at the service center; technician programmed it up for QCII and it alerted on the display but no Horn Honk output on the External Alarm Pin, Called Motorola and they said "Ohh horn honk only works with mdc, not QCII" so now i've spent $385.00 for the QCII flash upgrade, two trips to the depot, a very Ticked off Customer because its taking forever and now they tell me it won't work. Has anybody ever got the MCS2000 to do horn honk from QCII or is motorola blowing smoke?

Oh on a funny note, when i spoke with the Motorola technician i had to speak to his translator and then have him translate to the Motorola technician what was going on with it.

Please Help
