HT1550 XLS VHF Service Settings

Post by nick.dejohn »

I am looking for the factory default settings on the service side of the programming. I bought one used and I have a horrible "motor boat" sound on a few channels. I had this same problem with my EX600XLS VHF and I fixed it by doing some tuning in the service settings. The problem is I don;t if the radio is at factory default or not. So, if anyone has one and hasn't tuned it at all, email me what yours says.

Thanks,
Nick

Nick,
I own the same radio you ..Have you updated to the latest firmware and program with the latest software? that might cure the noise you are dealing with. I dont know how to reset the radio to factory defaults.. i thought there might be a "click for that"
if you are still having issues e-mail me

There are no universal "default" values, each radio is custom tuned at the factory. You will want to bring the radio into the shop to have it retuned professionally if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.

The "motor boat" sound is still there. It only exists on 2 channels that I know of. Its not that bad. I will probably bring it in to my local shop next week and have them look at it to see what they can do.

Thanks for all the help.

that might be the broadband offset problem with channels with mdc decode.
