Hi all,
The computer I was using during a firmware update to a HT1250 failed and rebooted. Now I have a dead radio. Is it a brick that needs to be sent to the depot for repair or is it something that can be fixed?
I do have the ability ti send it to the depot as my service is a MOL custmer, but I'm trying to avoid the costs.
Let me know if any of you have an ideas.
Thanks,
Regen

What behavior does the radio show when "powered on"?
If it's a solid green LED, you're in luck.
If it's anything else, you're not.
The radio, if with green LED is powering up in bootstrap mode and is awaiting the firmware to be blown back in, the only problem is that the program won't recognize the radio to get to the flashing part without it powering up normally and the program being able to read the model number, tanapa, etc.
Solution? If you have another radio with the same model number and same TANAPA, set that radio up to be reflashed. If/when you get past the first screen and it says to put the radio in bootstrap mode before continuing, swap radios with the dead one and it should program just fine.
You may want to check out your computer first and foremost so that it doesn't magically restart on its own in the middle of this procedure again!

You have to use the homemade labtool to fix it.
If you have luck, the codeplug is good and you only have to flash the firmware.
If not you have to program the codeplug after flashing and must retune the radio.

I have the lab software, but I do not get the green led on power up. Does anyone know if it is possible to get the radio back to bootstrape mode? If not since this radio is out of warrenty can a motorola dealer fix this or will it have to go to the depot?
