I am trying to read a Digitac Comparator using hyper terminal. So far i have been unsuccesful, can anyone shed some light as to how i capture the information within. The model # is Q2983A and I am using a null modem cable (db25 to db9) pins 2 and 3, pins 3 and 2, and pins 5 are connected at both ends. Hyper terminal is setup with Its default output is 8 bit ASCII Asynchronous, 9600 baud, 1 stop bit, no parity. Set for VT100 emulation.
I hope someone can help me out.

That should be correct though I don't have a manual in front of me to confirm a null modem cable is required. AFAIK it does not require full handshaking. Sounds like you need to do some basic troubleshooting. Confirm your com port and hyperterm are talking to each other. Verify the cable. Try a straight cable. Try a fully populated cable. Try all the different speeds in case someone changed it to 19200 or faster (or slower).

Yup. Regular null modem cable should work.
Once you have it connected press C and it should spit out some data. If not, try changing the baud rate. Start at 2400 and work up.
