XTS2500i Internal Mic Replacement?

Post by KX5MOT »

I have a UHF XTS2500i that seems to have a bad internal mic. Is there an easy way to replace just the microphone element or does is have to be replaced with a flex assembly? I don't disassemble this radio very often, so i'd like to know what I'm getting into.

Any help is appreciated.

"Yes....but we'll hit theirs as well. We have reserves....attack"

As long as you have good soldering skills and the part, it should be no problem.
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...
