Channel Announcement

Post by njemt7212 »

Hi All,

I have a XTS2500i capable of the channel annoucement feature. What I was wondering was is it possible to have the radio not automatically announce the channel but stay silent until I push a programmed button for the announcement?

thanks

There is a lot of information about Channel Announcement in the HELP section of the CPS,
including how to recall the announcement via a button press. I didn't dig in far enough to see
if the announcement can be delayed until you press a button. Have you looked there?

I think you're outta luck. I have setup channel announcement on quite a few radios and have never seen the option that you are looking for. But I think it is a good idea.

I have set some up and check the box for fixed alert tone volume which also affects the channel annoucement. I then set the volume level to 30 which seems to work pretty good. I don't use QCII or any paging though which may also be affected by fixed alert tone volume which probably wouldn't be a good idea.
