MTS2000 site scanning

Post by nomex_nugget »

I have a number of UHF MTS2000's and MTX838's programmed to recieve our Type2 Motorola Smatzone Omnilink system.

I have programmed eight different sites into the radios.

With the MTX838's I can hold down one of the side buttons programmed to display the site data and it will force the radio to search for a new site. However the MTS2000's, which are programmed the same will not search for a different site when I hold the button down, they just display the site name and the RSSI information.

Is there anything I need to specifically do to enable the 2000's to look for another site ?

It seems that at the moment when I am driving around it finds a site and then sticks with it for too long, when a closer site would be better.

Regards

It appears as though you have to hold down the 'SITE' button for longer on the MTS2000. On the MTX838 only needed a short press to force it to scan for a new site, but the MTS2000 requires it to be held down for 5 seconds.

Problem now solved.
