Channel Annoucement Problem

Post by KX5MOT »

I have a UHF XTS2500i that bought and i am trying to program it with CPS 9. The problem is that it has channel announcement enabled on one channel and i want to get rid of it. I have read the radio, saved the codeplug, made my changes to the data and when i try to write to the radio i get a voice file mismatch error and the CPS will not let me continue writing. The codeplug i am working on has CA is unchecked under radio wide and CA is disabled on that specific channel under the zone assignment. So my question is how do i disable the CA feature completely so i can write to my radio?

I don't have the CPS in front of me, but you need to go into the CPS options/preferences (in the menu bar). One of the options has to be enabled for channel announce to work. Try disabling that option, then program the radio.

Try checking/unchecking the read/write voice files box.

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Yeah i tried unchecking & checking the read/write files box and it's still complaining. Is there some specific order?

Go to View then Options then look around for something like Channel announcement options.

I don't remember the exact name but as I remember there's something in the view/options pull down menu list that lets you play with channel announcement files.
