I just got a M1225 and I want to program it. Model M34DGC90J2AA. 440-470mhz
I have RSS 3.1 reads the radio fine. Seems to program the radio fine.
After programming nothing seems to have changed.
No transmitting just beeps. None of the buttons seem to to do anything just beep.
The radio starts by lighting up all the display characters then starts scrolling some text across the display XXXXXX FARMS. Then displays "SEARCHING".
In the RSS I don't see anywhere to change this scrolling text.
There is very little information in the model specific section about any of this.
Can someone tell me what this radio is doing? Is this some special option setup? Or is it that I just don't know what I'm doing?
thanks
Dennis

Uninstall the passport option board.
Re: New to programming M1225 need help
Oh great thanks for the quick reply.
Could you give me a little info about what the passport option is and how to uninstall it?
thanks

Re: New to programming M1225 need help
This is a board made by Scholer-Johnson years ago. If you open the radio, it will be obvious as a piggyback board mounted on top of some other components.
It was used for LTR-Passport configurations. I am trying to find my ancient notes on how to install one of these, since I don't remember whether there was any component changes required or not.
I will repost in this thread when I get a chance. You might also want to call Morgan Johnson at Scholer-Johnson at (407)645-5093 in Florida. He may be able to fax or email you the document you need or walk you through it on the phone. They are there until about 430pm weekdays, Florida time.

Re: New to programming M1225 need help
Well I tired of waiting on these guys.
I popped open the radio and unscrewed the board.
There was a small ribbon cable and a wire.
Cut the wire and taped it. Removed the cable.
Guess what. Conventional radio now.
All done.
Thanks guys

Just make sure you have TX audio. I can't find my install sheet, I think that is all there is to it, however.
FYI, Morgan won't answer the phone unless someone actually leaves a message. IF you just called and then hung up, you probably won't get an answer.

Yes I have transmit audio.
I left 2 messages with Scholer and they never returned.
If someone has the install instructions I would be grateful.
The single wire was connected to a very tiny IC pin. Didn't look very professional.
The only other connection was the small ribbon cable.
Thanks
