Quantar to DIU cable using Quad Interface Box

Post by d119 »

I've pored through manuals at work and cannot seem to get this to fly.

Before I call TSO, does anyone know the pinout of the cable from the DIU quad interface box NULL port to the V.24 "Port 1" on the front of a Quantar to get the DIU and Quantar to talk?

I've verified DIP switch settings on the v.24 card as well as jumper settings in the Quad Interface box.

Tried playing with clocking settings in the DIU and Quantar, but still no love.

Any help?

FWIW, my wireline interface has 2001 firmware PC509 5101009009. Quantar has an EPIC V card in it (new).

It should be a straight-thru cable. I usually use that flat "sivler satin" stuff.

If you suspect there's a problem with the Quad box, you could just wire one end to the DB-25 directly on the DIU. I posted a pinout for this in http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=51913

If that doesn't work either, it sure seems to me like there's some older Quantars that just don't work with a V.24 interface for some reason... Maybe try swapping WL or control cards that have been known to work with V.24 cards.

OK, got it working. Not sure what the hell the hangup was, but finally got the clock settings correct.
