GM360 Question?

Post by Essexsaxo »

Hi Guys,
I have just brought a GM360 from ebay and I am not sure what version software it has been programmed with in the past, I have version R03.10.03_EN which I think is the latest version?, if the radio has been programmed with an earlier version will I still be able to read and program the GM360 with my software?? sorry for all the questions.

The newer program will supersede what's now in the radio.

Thanks that helps to put my mind at rest, have you got any tips for programming the GM360 as I have read lots of stories of things going wrong during programming and the radio ending up useless.

Nick,

Being it's a UK/Ireland radio you won't get much if any comment from over here in the US about it.

The usual cause of programming problems stem from people trying shortcuts in the equipment, such
as buying cheap offshore programming cables, etc. If you stick with Motorola stuff and use the right
computer you should have no problems.

Read the tuning parameters and save them, before you program the radio. When you have problem in the future, you can easy fix it,without tuning the radio.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your help and suggestions, I had a go at reading the radio last night, and, once i'd worked out you cant read the radio with the remote head attached, managed to read it successfully.

I'm now struggling to understand how to setup the select 5 selcall. We use basic 70ms CCIR selcall at work which starts with 135?? the last two digits change from user to user, then each radio is assigned a number so you can call individual radios, for example 13501, Has anybody got any ideas how I can setup my radio to allow me to just change the last two digits of the select5 on the radio and hit send? I've only ever programmed Icom and Tait radios and setting up the selcall on those was simple, I think its because you can change so many factors that i'm getting in a muddle?

Regards
Nick
