I have an XTL5000 W4 radio that I am trying to get to decode MDC PTT ID's. I have the conventional personality setup for MDC however no ID ever appears on the display.

Any thoughts?

You don't have digital ID display, the radio will not display any IDs

Of course not...I wasn't sure if digital ID was inclusive of MDC decoding.

You have to go into the "Radio Configuration" selection, then the "Display & Menu" selection and then the "PTT ID"
tab selection. Check both the "ID DISPLAY" box and the "SCAN ID DISPLAY" box. Save the codeplug back into
the radio. You should be good to go for displaying the MDC data coming over the channel.
