Ht 1250 LS+ Programming Question

Post by cpd249 »

We recently added a fire departmend paramedic to the PD tac team. I am trying to add several of the PD simplex tactical channels to his radio and keep getting an unsupported model error message when I try to read the radio. I also tried to read a PD radio and got the same message. The firmware on the PD radio is 05.11.03 and the firmware on the FD radio is 05.13.09. I am using CPS R06.07.04 and an aftermarket cable. I have read that I may need a newer version of CPS. Is that true? If so what is the latest version? Thanks for the help.

At least 6.09.06, that is the last current version of CPS that didn't change the codeplug version....

Welcome to Motorola's awesome new error messages...instead of saying "Codeplug too New" it's apparently more informative to tell the user that the model is not supported by the application and to refer to the useless help file for more info....

Thanks for the help.

I found CPS version R06.10.04 here at the station and used it to read the radio. When I tried to write the radio I got an error saying "EEPRM CS ERROR." After more research I found that this seems to be a common problem and that I need CPS version R06.11.05 to fix it. I went to talk to the boss to see about our subscription to get the new CPS and she was not surprised that I had a problem programming the radio, she said that 10% of the radios would not program when we first got them and tried to program them. I told her that we should have gotten XTS's.

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

you've got somebody doing something wrong or using cheap parts, that is a common error but what you're saying is way way too much
