Wireline connector for Quantar

Post by OneManShow »

Hi,

I have a customer with a Quantar with the wireline option installed, but they lost the 8 pin orange plug. I called Motorola to find that you have to buy the entire assembly at about C$85.00. Does anyone out there have one or know where I can source this connector?

Thanks

It's a Weidmuller connector. You can get them from Newark.

Thats the ticket!

I couldn't remember the company name, and I knew that the Zetron equipment used the same style, but I couldn't find any reference in the books I have. I checked Digikey's website and p/n 281-2589-ND seems like a good candidate. I'll let you know how I make out.

You're welcome. Good luck on finding the correct one. I pulled one from a station and it has some teeny printing - BLA 1.5mm. And of course I can't anything to match at the Weidmuller site. The smallest pitch they have is 3.5mm, and the BLA series looks a bit different than what I have in hand. the Zetron plugs are similar, but not exactly the same. A little creative whittleing could get it to fit. But, if you need just one, PM me.

Thanks Bill.

I looked at the Weidmuller site again.

The downloadable catalogue shows the BLA Unimate series with 5.08 mm pitch. http://catalog.weidmueller.com/catalog/ ... 140094117

Yet, I can't find a reference to it on the online catalogue. The closest I can find is the BLZ Omnimate series.

Since I don't have the unit in front of me, it is hard to match it up.

Thanks for the offer of a plug. I've talked to the customer and they are looking for three of them!

They could use the 25pr connector. Line 1 is 1 & 26. Line 2 is 2 & 27. They can either connect (carefully) to an empty Amp connector, or put in a 66 block and punch down on that. I have some custom 25pr Amp connectors with wire wrap posts on them, but most people are frightened by them.

I have ordered them from motorola before. I will look in the book and see if i can find the part#.

My mistake. I ordered the small black clips that bracket the orage connector to hold it on the rear chassis.

It was a 0185057U01.
