XTS3000 M3 Call Alert ID Entry
Does anyone know if it is possible to directly enter Call Alert IDs on the fly via the keypad on XTS3K Model 3's without having to pre-program them in the call list via the CPS? I have a friend who has an Astro Saber M3 that will do it but I can't figure out how to get the 3K to do it for the life of me.

First in the Astro CPS, if the channel is a analog conventional, make sure under conventional personality, you have MDC-1200 selected for signaling and under the MDC tab, make sure under MDC encode, you have a check mark in "unlimited calling".For a conventional Astro digital freq channel, make sure for Astro Call, encode "Astro unlimited calling" box is checked.
Then, for whenever you are in the correct channel, just go into your radio's menu, select "PAGE"when the screen says LIST,just press in the Astro ID or MDC ID you are trying to page, press the PTT and there you go....

Okay, thanks. What if it's an MDC ID that has one of the letter A-E in it?

When I hit the * key it produces the letter F but I can't figure out how to produce A-E. Anyone have any experience with this?
