P25 Paging Pretime

Is there a way to add pretime or a preamble to a page (or the entire system in general) in P25 (conventional)?

When I try to page from:
A -> B ----- B gets it, but A never recieves an acknowledgement.
B -> A ----- 95% of the time nothing ever gets anything and when it does work, no acknowledgement is recieved by B.

I messed with the preamble legnth in the ASTRO system, but even at max it didn't help.

I believe that the radios are not %100 tuned so that may be my problem too.

I have to ask how are you generating the page tones and how are they being coupled into the radio?

What radio are you using?

Are you adjusting the tone levels to have about 50% deviation? You need to keep paging tones out of compression no matter what type of a system your using.

I am not generating any tones that I know of (QuickCall II, and the like), I am running P25/Digital.

I am just paging from one radio to another (like MDC, but in P25 Digital) and was trying to find out if a preamble or pretime can be added to either just the paging feature or the whole astro system in general.
