Spectra with Flashing Mode/Channel Name

I've converted a trunking Spectra in 900hmz for Conventional use only on the 900mhz ham band. Everything seems kosher BUT the channel/mode name flashing on and off! Only the name... not the entire display. It didn't do this before I started monkeying around with MOFLAGS, bit banging, etc. I have NO idea what I've done to get this "feature"! Any ideas folks?

I figured it out.... I enabled MPL and this firmware version didn't like it! I suspect it was flashing the mode name then NOTHING when it was trying to show the PL tone because it didn't understand quite how to do that!
