Tone remote for spectra consolette

Post by W1HVN »

Will the L1475A tone remote work directly with the astro spectra consolette?

Running local line from roof down 4 floors to EOC in basement. Consolette in radio room on roof.

If that model won't work, what model will?

Thanks

Just a suggestion if your looking for answers is to provide the model number from the consolette name plate.
That will provide the options as supplied from the factory. There are several control board models for those
radios. An even better way would be to get the control board number and use that to ask your question.

Be aware that Motorola tone control for those radios has a quirk in the channel assignments. Channels 3 and
4 from the tone control side are really channels 7 and 8 in the codeplug. Likewise, channels 7 and 8 on the
tone remote are really channels 3 and 4 in the codeplug. Just thought I would pass that along so you don't
loose your mind if you will be running multi channels.

Model # L99ZX+255L / L35ZXM5174AM
My bad in original post, it's an analog spectra, which I knew, just not sure why I types Astro. Habit I guess.

I need L146, tone remote. Radio is not in my immediate pocession, so can't examine it. Anyone know if it's possible to decode the model # for options? Don't think so with analog series.

In lieu of tone remote, I imagine Remote DC control possible I assume. Do those controllers still exist out there?

Looking for a source to decode optionset from mode#?

As far as control, we can make do with single channel operation, but would be nice to have ability to transmit on the output of the repeater for talkaround.

I have not been able to completely decode the model number, but from what I can find out, it is an 800 MHz trunking radio. Believe that it has a rotary control head on it.

There is some information on a number of sites on the web. You just need to do a search for spectra consolette. While on that topic, yes there is a number of people that are on here that are very knowledgeable, however, they do expect you to do your part in trying to learn, search and in general do your own homework before asking for additional help.
