radio-to-radio cloning portables using RKN4073A cable

Post by middleeastradioguy »

Hello,

I've inherited a number of HT750, HT1250 portables, as well as numerous cables and such from a company that shut down. I purchased the CPS software and as it is part of my job become quite adapt at programming and editing features. But I have a RKN4073A radio to radio cloning cable and am unsure of the actual process of cloning the portables. I have enabled the radio-to-radio clone feature in the codeplugs but need instructions on how-to move the codeplug from one radio to another. (which buttons to press, if I need a special battery, etc). I have no real need in using the cloning cable since I have the CPS software but am always up for learning something new.

As I said I have inherited quite a bit of cables and I know they aren't cheap, if you can provide an answer I'd be willing to trade a cable or two if you so need! Maybe we can help each other out. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Here is the directions from my cloning cable. It has worked great for me.
"Motorola Radio Cloning Cable HT750 HT1250 GP328
Both radios must be the exact same model. The radios have to have cloning enabled in their programming settings.
1. Connect the cable to both radios
2. Turn target radio on
3. While turning source radio on you must hold the button above and below the PTT switch on the source radio at the same time during power up to start clone mode
The radios will beep when programming is completed if the audio tones for the radios have not been muted."

Hope this helps
