Antenna relay for Vertex repeater

Post by RFguy »

Are we allowed to discuss Vertex now that Motorola owns them? :)

I am quoting a VXR-7000 repeater as a base station so I will need to add an antenna relay. Any Ideas out there?

I prefer a fully sealed 12-volt antenna relay with N female connectors.

Thanks,

They don't have an antenna relay option like the MTR?

No they don't. The repeater is set up for it as they have a programmed function for it. When activated, there is a low going output that will sink 1.5 amps.

I have asked, and they do not have an option available (kind of strange).

Interesting. I suppose you could order the MTR ant switch. I think they are 12v, but could be wrong. You'll have to check the manual. Don't know how you'll mount it. You could fab a bracket easily enough.

I found the MTR2000 relay part#. It is a 8082894X02 and price around $250 NSO

If I don't find a less expensive option, I will go with this one.

Thanks.
