Radius CM200 PL RX after 2 tone decode

Can a Radius CM200 be programmed to decode a 2 tone paging sequence AND also receive a PL during the voice transmission after the paging sequence?

I'm being told that if the CM200 is programmed for call alert/muted receive (until a proper 2 tone sequence is decoded), that it cannot be programmed with a RX PL. I find this hard to believe but I don't have this software or a radio to test it.

Our problem is the reception of co-channel interference once the CM200 opens up for a 2 tone sequence. We hear undesired transmissions until the CM200 times out and resets to await the next 2 tone sequence.

The undesired co-channel transmissions are weak and do not interfere with the much stronger local dispatch transmission, but are nevertheless annoying.

I don't have a CM200 to test either, but I am not entirely surprised if has that either/or limitation. It is quite common for doh dah paging to be transmitted without PL (called PL strip) to prevent opening PL muted rcvrs. Equally common are rcvrs that decode a two tone sequence to be in carrier squelch mode to hear an announcement whether there is xmit PL or not. In your case, perhaps tightening the squelch will help mute the co-channel user, or taking advantage of directional antenna null to reduce their strength, or both.

Thanks Bill. I've also heard about the PL stripping with 2 tone. The receiver already has a directional antenna on it.

Hopefully someone here with CM200 experience will know for certain if PL can be used along with QCII
