What are my options for a dsek mic on a DC remote?

Post by RFguy »

I have a customer that is unhappy with the durability of the CPI DR20 DC remote with a desk mic.

I am getting stumped for options.

The Gai-tronics (old Motorola C200) is pricey as you need to buy the audio interface box (price just went up to about $500) in addition to the remote and deskset.

The Motorola MC2000 L3215 DC has been cancelled. The desk mic plugged right into that model.

What are you guys using for a desk mic on a DC remote?

You do not want to know how many C200 desksets I've MacGuivered a desk mic to. It can be done. We have used CPI equipment, and so far it seems to hold up okay. Obviously YMMV. You can still get an Gaitronics IDR1000 DC remote from Tessco for about $1k resale. With some careful work, you can make a Mot desk mic function.
