XTS2500 Code Plug Editing

Post by rad2085 »

Hi All

I have a question about code plugs and CPS version so here goes?

I have an XTS5000 code plug from a mates radio that was created/edited with CPS ver r12 or similar, Im trying to drag and drop some of his zones and personalities into my XTS2500, I understand not everthing will directly come accross so i have to do it in stages, my problem is that on my XTS I cannot use any CPS over ver R9 because FPP and Trunking are in the flash code. Is it somehow possible to change the original XTS5000 codeplug(R12) so that i can open it with R9 to drag and drop. I though about installing both version of software on my PC but that can't be done.

Any info greatley apprieciated
Many thanks

Drag and Drop is not allowed into a FPP codeplug. At least last time I tried it, it wasn't. One of the many reasons I stay away from FPP.

Greg,

I have some good news for you, you can do what you are asking. I just took a trunking only codeplug opened in R14.xx and did a top level drag and drop into a 59Axxx codeplug open in R09.xx CPS. It worked just fine for me. You will need to install both version 9.xx, and 12.xx (R14.xx is the latest) Astro25 CPS on the same machine. to do that here is the link

Jason is correct that most Astro25 FPP units will not allow drag and drop. I don't know what allows it in the whore flash units. It may be the fact that there is no Q53 (that would be my guess), or it may just be the newer CPS.
