Is an XPR-6550 P25 capable?

I know that this radio is Mototrbo, but is it also P25 capable?

Not currently, but I have heard that p25 is coming to the trbo line

The Kenwood NexEdge radios use the same vocoder & can be flashed to do P25, so I would assume the TRBO radios could also, although likely losing the TDMA side of things...but Motorola has too many eggs in their XTS/APX lines to want to give a (much) cheaper alternative.

There are fields in the CPS that reference CAI, common air interface that coupled with rumors heard around Moto and the fact that the Apx also uses the AMBE vocoder (thats how it does X2TDMA) is what leads me to believe its planned.

"CAI" in the context of MotoTrbo refers to the ETSI DMR CAI - not the APCO P25 CAI.
