APX7000 FPP analog/digital programming

Post by Jay »

I've got a zone setup for FPP work on an APX7000. Sometimes I need it to be analog channels and other times digital. When I go in to edit the channel and change the RX type I get "Analog Only - no FPP edit". What am I missing? Flash includes digital mode.

Is the bandwidth set for wide, 25 KHz ?

If so then change it to narrow, 12.5KHz and then try changing from FM to P25.

Good idea...But tried it, and no change.

I have started to notice that the RX function seems to mirror the TX function in the newer software. You might be
forced into changing the TX also to get the RX to work they way your trying to get it to.

I don't get an option to change TX type. Edit isn't assigned to the soft keys, in this case. Funny thing is I can change the NACs, but not the modulation type.

I can setup a P25 personality in CPS and assign it to a zone, then FPP the freq, etc. It will let me change to FM.

So if you change the personality from P25 -> Analog, can you then change that same personality from Analog -> P25?
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.

Yep, sure can. Doesn't make sense to me. Seems that if the personality is set up in CPS to RX mixed or digital, then it'll let you FPP that field to analog/mixed/digital. If the personality is set to analog, it won't let me change it.

Could it be a bug as I'm not having that problem. I have an analog only zone and change it back and forth at will.

Mark:

It could be, as I am still scratching my head/scowering the CPS for some setting that could be affecting this. I'm using CPS version R04.00.01, radio host and DSP is R04.00.00.

So after staring at the codeplug for entirely too much time, here is how I fixed this problem - in case someone else comes across the same thing.

In the conventional personality under RX options, change options, change RX type to mixed. Then under signaling/astro, select a conventional system type (I had none selected previously). Then if you want, you can change back to non-astro for RX type. The radio will FPP just fine.
