I will be installing a XTL5000 an planning on tying it into our Zetron 4010 using local control.
I am looking for what the pin out configuration is on the XTL5000. The XTL will be setup with a remote control head.
I am also looking to see what settings I may have to change on the XTL through the CPS.
Thanks!

The simple way of connecting to the low and medium power XTL is through the rear accessory connector.
You will need the connector assembly # HLN6863A. This also provides a speaker connection and an ignition
connection. There are no extra pins that come with the connector, so you will need to order # 3980034F04
that comes in a package of 25 pins.
pin 1 = digital ground
pin 14 = audio ground
pin 15 = emergency (need to ground to pin 14)
pin 16 = PTT
pin 21 = fixed RX audio (need to couple through a 0.1 uf cap) (has a DC bias you don't want to short)
pin 23 = TX audio high (also has a DC bias, you may need to use a coupling cap here also)
Hope this gets you what you want. If you have a high powered XTL, then there is a DB25 connector that
you have to use. There are some internal software settings to control the external TX audio input levels.
These are in the software under radio wide, then select the TX audio per mode tab. About the middle of
the page is the external input settings for the gain. They are defaulted to AGC. Uncheck the blocks and
go to the right to adjust the gain to what level you need. This will have to be determined by trial and error
with the levels coming from the Zetron.
Another note to keep in the back of your mind. If by some chance you go through all this and find you
still have no TX audio, there is one more software location to play with. In the advanced tab, you will
see at the bottom of the screen a selection for "AUX PTT AUDIO SOURCE". There are 2 selections here.
If one doesn't work, toggle to the other. One will be "AUX_MIC" and the other is "AUX_TX". It seems the
Motorola software geeks couldn't make up their mind which way to make this work. It changes back and
forth depending on which version of the software your using.

The other way of doing this is to get an XTL5000 "Astro Consolette" with the tone wireline board, and connect it to the 4010 card set for EIA tone control.
