Motorola battery date code question

Post by Bud Turcq »

Is there away to tell if a date code on the batteries are current decade or ten years old? For example, is the date code 711 the eleventh week of 2007 or the eleventh week of 1997. Surely there must be some identifier as such on them. I've run into a few used batteries lately and would like to know just how old they are before buying any.
Thanks

"7" would be the last digit of the year, so yes, 711 could be the 11 th week of 1997, or 2007. Sometimes the type of radio the battery fits can help, or maybe an Impress sticker [was Impress around in 97] can get you in the right decade. Good luck. GARY N4KVE
