Saber error code 1 0D

Post by brian_m »

Knowledgeable Saber Sages,

I tried to program a Saber II and it now comes up with this error code. It will also beep seven times, pause, and repeat. I programmed it using a 486 50MHz set in the BIOS to run at 12.5MHz. It's running DOS 6.22 with no Windows of any flavor installed on the PC (actually an Epson tablet, really nice for radio programming - I thought).

According to this site, this error code is shown when:

ERR 1 0D - The display that comes up for a COPE 5 radio when the programmer starts writing to the radio.

I'm guessing the programming didn't complete. I've tried erasing and programming again with a fresh codeplug, but same results. I'm no expert, so any coments would be of great help. Thanks for your time.

Everything sounds right but you didn't say where you got your programming cable and what kind of or whose RIB you're using. And did you read and save the original codeplug that came with the radio?

Also, if you wrote a new program did the model number you selected in the RSS match the model number of your radio?

Tom,

I did save the original, and was able to get it back into the radio today. I don't know what I wasn't doing right last time, but things went better today. I'm using a generic e-bay RIB with a cable from KawaMall (another generic e-bay source), which I guess I can't blame now...

I've got a couple of other questions, but I'll put those in a new topic. Thanks for the reply and the assurance that I was on the right track.
