PR1500 Not Powering Up

Post by nycapt7112 »

Hi all,

After an extensive search of the forums I have not seen any posts or topics that can answer my question. I have a UHF PR1500 that will not power up.

So far the diagnostics I've tried are basic; swapping the battery, cleaning the contacts, etc.. but with no avail. I also attempted to read the radio using the CPS with no response as well.

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue?

Thanks in advance

Blown fuse, not sure where it at on a pr1500 but its not uncommon for portable radio fuses to blow.

Anyone happen to know where the fuse would be on a PR1500?

It is F500, and is on the opposite side of the board from the battery contacts. It is a small surface mount fuse. It's best to get the correct tool to remove the housing also.

Hi, my case removal tool finally arrived and I am looking at the board but cannot find an F500 opposite the battery contacts. Would anyone happen to have a picture of the board/fuse? Right now I just want to throw a meter on it to see if it is in fact blown.

Thanks,
Dan
