Re: MTX 8000LS
Has anyone tried to force a s-record or C/P from a regular type 2 trucking into a MTX LS ?

Re: MTX 8000LS
Sorry, it won't work.
MTX-LS radios have a totally different codeplug structure than their Privacy Plus counterparts.
If memory serves me correctly, they use a uni-board, or at least with the flex connector as opposed to the 'staple' type found in other MTX radios. This would mean you can't (easily) swap out the LS controller for a PP controller.
Also, IIRC, the programming cable is a totally different beast than that of the PP radios.
However, it's been years since I've played with one so I could be off the deep end here.

Re: MTX 8000LS
Correct on everything except the programming cable, same Jedi cable as other MTX/MTS2000's but does require it's own RSS package. The radios do use a uni-board chassis, there were also some later revision MTX8000 B3 PP portables with a uni-board chassis, denoted by a "BN" revision in the model number.Spiffy50 wrote:Sorry, it won't work.
