MCS2000 CPS - RVN4175VR ???

Post by sheldon »

Just spoke to my local dealer to place an order for the latest version CPS for the MCS2000 and he said there was an upgrade version - RVN4175VR?

Can someone explain what this means? Is it just a newer release of CPS or an upgrade patch?

The latest CPS is R02.03.00, the latest Tuner is R02.02.00. Sounds like you are talking to a sales guy...

The P/N for the latest package is RVN4175W.

This radio has been discontinued, however, so don't look for any more updates. In your situation, it is probably best to take the radio to a MSS that charges a flat rate for programming. At the rate we charge, you could get the radio reprogrammed ten times for what the CPS costs.

If you are hoping new CPS solves your control head problems, I would recommend having the MSS have a go at it before spending all that moola.
