Thin Battery for Visar

Post by 2wayfreq »

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a real thin Li-ION or similar battery for the Visar. I hate the clunky batteries that are like 3/4 inch thick. Thanks

MOTOROLA NTN7396BR Prem Batt NiMH 600 mAh 7.5V

Only issue is that since its only 600mAh,it will only last about 4 hrs if you have your radio set to high power,

Battery is half the size of the standard battery. With this battery on the radio, the radio is slightly thinner than a pack of cigarettes.

A completely different animal with the slim battery, sweet package long as you can go with the battery capacity as mentioned above (I used mine in a high signal area so 1 watt did the job and lasted for the day). That fat battery gives it the profile of a potato and no real advantage over carrying a HT1000. Just has to be used gingerly, not very durable.
