CDM1250 programming cable pinouts/signals

Would appreciate any insights from the group re. whether the CDM1250 programming protocols support use of only GND and BUS+ for read/write (not flashing.)
I want to program via the rear accessory connector (have a remote head setup and the cable doesn't work via the remote head...perhaps because of the cable or because I'm using CPS 06.04.00) and plan to either use the RLN4853 adapter cable...or build my own based on the pinout diagrams found here...but I noted that the only common pins used between my
aftermarket serial ribless cable and the RLN4853 are GND and BUS+. Since this configuration appears to be all that's needed to program the Maxtrac's I'm curious
as to whether this is supported in the CDM environment as well.

There is some good information on the site www.batlabs.com and then go to the selected radio section to find the CDM1250 mobile.

They have a number of different programming cable diagrams available there. If you weed through all the extra bs on the
diagrams, you will find that as you suggest, only ground and BUS+ are needed for normal programming. The next big question
is making up your programming cable for the rear connector. You will have to go and obtain the pinout connections of the rear
accessory connector to make up your cable.

I have a remote cdm and never had any success with programming these radios from the mic jack on the remote control head but I have had success with doing the following with a ribless program cable

1 turn on the radio via the remote control head
2 go to the brain & unplug the cable for remote control head
3 plug the ribless cable straight into where the remote head cable plugs into the brain

There's no such thing as a usb programming cable for this radio series. the ones you buy off of ebay are just usb adaptors and they are going to cost you a radio in the end, don't believe what they tell you that it works every time. Rule of thumb, if the factory didn't make a usb cable for it, don't use one. And i shure hope you are not going to try to adapt that usb contraption to use on the rear connector? Just use a real rib and cable and be safe about it. If you search back on this forum enuf you'll find alot of people that swear they found the magic way to alter settings and combine parts to make usb work but then you see the same people months later asking how to fix it. and one other option to program it is put the head back on the radio for programming? Good luck
