M1225 How 2 add Ext Spkr

Post by njscan »

I'm wondering if someone can point me to info on how to install an external speaker on a M1225. The radio currently works fine with it's internal speaker. The accessory connector does not have any plug connected which struck me strange. I recall that Maxtrac's needed a connector with a jumper installed for the external speaker. The connector appears to be the same 16P as a Maxtrac.

Thanks

Here is the pinout URL for the 1225:

I found it at the place where all, or most, of this stuff is located, which is:

http://www.batlabs.com

And then go to Model Specific Information, listings in the second section which covers mobile units.

Yes, I saw that info and read it, but it does not say how to disable the internal speaker and enable the external. I assume it's done with jumpers, but guessing could be an expensive error.

Disassemble radio, unplug internal speaker. Simple, easy to reverse, no soldering necessary. Exernal speaker should work as soon as it is plugged in.
