Do these chargers readily convert to 12 volts? Does anyone have past experience with this? I have one with a blown power supply and would like it to work on 12 volts in a vehicle.
Also what would be the expected current draw on one of these?

Yes, the 'shoe' chargers will work off of 12 volts just fine. Be sure to have a fuse in line, a one amp for the slow, 2 amp for the rapid one.

Haven't done one but the Astec PS in those supplies is about 12v. Current draw on a single unit rapid I've observed at about 1 amp.
Take a look under the hood should be do-able.
