I got an MTX radio from a hamfest for 5 bucks. The antenna says it's a 900 mhz model.
I checked the model number and confirmed this, but the front of the radio just says MTX. There is no plain MTX model specific information on this site it all pertains to MTXs with numbers after them like 810 etc...
Does anyone have an idea what this radio is? The model number is H01WCC4DB3AN

A lot of the MTX-800/810's came with just "MTX" on the label, making it a real pain in the ass to identify them. If you have the RSS for both, try each, the wrong one will give an error. If not, pop the front cover off & look at the logic board. If it's notched out with the top of a silver module showing at the bottom, it's an 800. If the board is not notched, it's an 810.

Your MTX is a MTX8000 B3 Model; 900mHz; freq range is 896-941mHz; does Type II trunking; 3 watt power; will do 4 systems/ 4 subfleets; conventional modes. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info guys! It may have been 5 bucks because it doesn't work. I basically bought it because it said Motorola and for 5 buck I figured what the hell. I really don't have a way to test it.
I wonder, are there any mods to move the freq range down to the 800 LEO range or is that too far?

Thanks again
