What radios do you own?: More than I can count

900 Spectra's

Post by RADIOMAN2002 »

I have been doing some work and research on the Spectra 900mhz radio(see other post) http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=89666 . I am trying to get around the problem of with an A-9 head the radio defaults to 16 conventional channels only. Has anyone investigated the actual software inards, for lack of a better word, as to where the channel capacity information is located like in the Maxtracs software? I didn't bring the whole software package to work, so I could only look in the spectra.exe, spectra1.exe and spectra2.exe files, with no luck. Is it possible that the information is located in the .OVL files? Any ideas?

Some additional information, apparently the firmware MLM v1.2 is the culprit. When I put a MLM with a firmware of v5.6 I don't lose the channel capacity when programming an A-9 head. This coincides with the service manual, even though the manual doesn't list it by firmware. I have an assortment of MLM's with various firmware, I'll list what I find.
