SP50 and old age

Post by N1RKT »

Ok guys I am having a problem with what should be a simple radio. Using 03.00.00 rss for the sp50 Motorola rib 9216, and home brew programing cable with old charging stand. I keep getting error 2 bus failure when trying to read all 6 of these radios, which would leave me to believe I screwed up and grabbed the wrong pin or some thing. When I go to and try it again the radio will beep 3 times and then it tell me "serial bus error" again. Is it me or what. Oh and by the way its a 25Mhz computer running on dos 5 old school all the way. Any ideas?

Thanks

Check here for the connections http://batlabs.com/sp50c.html

Also it is possible that the radio chassis is not seated all the way in the housing causing a poor connection to the BUSS pin or GND
