MC2000 MDC Decode and Button Issues

Post by KB2ZTX »

I have a MCS2000 VHF 100 watt with advanced head (Think model II). I would like to do MDC decode. Do these allow this. I have programmed radios in the past and cannot seem to find where to do this in this radio. In addition I changed the buttons to the new spots and none work. I am using the most current version CPS.

I need to read one to get exact model numbers i am sure.

Another item I am running into is reading and writing to the radios. currently I am using the programming cable in the control head. The radios will show programming, then shut off after a bit, then the CPS will fail. I dont have the other cable, but can make one. Will this work better ? Has anyone seen this prior ? I have tried multiple heads, cables and decks with the same results. Also tried 2 genuine motorola ribs and a pocket rib. All do the same.

The city replaced my desktop computer with the latest dual core dell. It seems to be too fast. I can no longer program MCS2000s and Astro Spectras with it. Astro 25 radios work fine.
I have to bring out my Panasonic CF52 to program using the same hardware.

Our city has a rigid changeout policy. YOU WILL GET A NEW COMPUTER AND YOU WILL LIKE IT!
