AGC not working - MT2000

Post by maxkelley_kc2spy »

Hi all,
I have a VHF R01.40 MT2000... the AGC isn't working, for some reason. I set it as enabled in RSS, re-wrote the radio, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. On my other MT2000, you can definitely tell that the AGC is on... slowly, background noise will increase in volume until you speak again.
What gives?!

Mmmm... sad :( No way around that other than getting another controller board?

yep, the MT2000 uses masked ROM based firmware, it is not flash upgradeable unlike it's cousin the MTS2000. An upgrade means just that, replacing the board.
Cheaper to just get another MT2000 that has newer firmware, supports narrowband, etc.
