RSM Emergency Button problems

Hey guys, I've run into a problem I can't solve. I've searched the forums here and on RR with no luck.

I have an XTS 5000 functioning perfectly with the exception of the emergency button on the Remote Speaker Mic. We use the RMN 5038A. When I press the emergency (orange) button, it back lights the screen so I know the button is operational. I've tried multiple mics to confirm it IS the portable and of course did the usual, clean the contacts, etc. to no avail.

IT seems like a programming issue but I can't think of anything that would disable that button. From everything I know (which is far from everything), the mic should mimic the button on the radio. I did enable the RSM emergency long press under 'radio wide' just to see if it made a difference, but nope... nadda.

Thoughts??? Anyone run into this problem??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you figured this out yet? Does the emergency button work on the radio itself? If so, can you lay the XTS5000 on its side and try the emergency button on the RSM?

Go into CPS and make sure u have man down enabled and set all timing to 0 or 1 (the lowest you can set). For some reason the new RSM's use the man down function for emergency.
