DPL266 in APX 7500 Programming

Post by nick.dejohn »

I'm trying to put DPL266 with a UHF frequency in an APX7500 O5 and in the drop down menu with all the DPL's in it, there is no option for that particular DPL. Any idea's??? The codeplug version in the radio is R05.00.00, firmware version is R04.00.25 and DPS version is R04.00.25.

Thanks,
Nick

266 is not one of the 83 valid codes defined in TIA-603.

Well that just sucks. Its a code being used by a fire service near me. They are operating CDM1250's UHF, utilizing that code.

266 is a GE DPL, non-standard as XMO notes. Astro 25 didn't support this code, neither did Astro, but Professional Series does. I know you can hex edit the Pro Series CPS .exe to add non-standard DPLs (and the radio will synthesize them just fine) but not sure if it can be done with APX or Astro25 CPS without errors.

well 454 is the invert of 266, sometimes that works but without altering the cps I don't have any other ideas?

if you just want to monitor it you don't need a pl or dpl, just leave it open?

Go over to http://www.onfreq.com/syntorx/dcs.html a very interesting article. dpl 266 also should also work with +655
-454, -513, -545, -564. Try them.

None of those DPLs are in the standard and thus they are not available in the CPS. Astro25 only supports standard DPLs.
