Sys keys for Astro Saber
OK. I just spent the last hour searching for this information, sorry if it is a duplicate. I have in the past created sys keys for my SYS Sabers and Spectra radios for a local UHF system. I tried loading these software keys into the Astro Saber/XTS3k software, but they return an error as an invalid key. Furthermore, I then hex edit the default key in the Astro software and noticed that the key length is 3 bytes longer. Has anyone been able to determine the newer keys properties. I was successful in changing the 0001 key to 0100 key, but nothing more. Any insight would be helpful.

Re: Sys keys for Astro Saber
The bigger question is...... why are you hacking onto someone's trunk? If your not, then get the corresponding keys from your sys admin.
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

I was hoping that this wouldn't come up, this site posts information to do just that. If you feel that some
one shouldn't be doing this sort of activity then take the information down. Otherwise it is a valid question. There is no law that prohibits the exchange of ideas about anything. I miss the days when this site was on psycho.net. There weren't these types of responses.

Re: Sys keys for Astro Saber
I see it both ways, and nobody can condone unauthorized access to a trunking system.
But, is answering the question condoning some sort of behavior? I suppose only the OP knows.
However, I do agree that the site that this entire forum was spawned from and refers to is is based almost entirely on topics that are either forbidden or will get your head bitten off if discussed.
Perhaps that's why the for sale forum seems to be the only one with any momentum?
BTW,
I'm not trying to jump on you Spectragod. I'm speaking about a general attitude of everyone.

Unfortunately I agree, I guess it's off to other post and forums, I have consider this forum dead for quite some time now. I really don't need to know about what battery fits what radio. I was hoping that some real discussions could still happen. I will continue to post what I feel is useful to other radio user, even if it tweaks some peoples you know what.
BTW I WILL crack the key and I WILL post that information. Let the moderators take it down.

I understand your not making an attack. But in this day and age, the reality is, people are getting arrested, prosecuted and going to prison fo this very thing.mancow wrote:I see it both ways, and nobody can condone unauthorized access to a trunking system.

There are other people that read this board, looking for people participating in these "activities".
The owners of the board and the mods are the one that put the ban hammer on this type of thing. Myself, if I find a radio that doesn't belong on our sys, I just kill it, that usually solves all problems.
OP, you best hope they don't have a Genesis on that sys watching it.
