XTS 2500 Question

Post by firefighter105 »

I have a question. On the local trunking system for 800, it requires Radio ID's. Where abouts do I find the Radio ID number setting in the CPS on an XTS2500 in 800 trunked.

I am not sure where to find it and that is the reason why I ask.

Your stepping on real soft ground here asking this question. If you have to ask this question, you shouldn't be playing with the programming of a trunking radio. You will need the systems key and the blessing of the systems manager in order to get the radio programmed correctly.

I know about the system keys etc. The reason I ask is the radio is pre-programmed with a system from the states and I am in canada. I am using a copy of the codeplug with the US system as an oppurtunity to learn more about trunking in general before I get our system and keys installed. Thanks

You get the ID from your sys admin.
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

This is not a hard question guys, he's not asking what ID to use, how do I program my bootleg trunked radio on XX system, how do I make a syskey. He's asking what field do I put my individual ID in.

The system ID is selected on the trunking system general tab and the individual ID is the individual id on the type II tab of the trunking system.

Hey. Batwings is right. I don't plan on going and bootlegging. I am just doing my best to learn from the vast knowledge on the board and try to piece it together in order to make the best of the information. It helps when I have a question to sometimes ask when things make no sense in the relationship between what I read and what I have seen on CPS.

Just don't judge me please and think I am automatically looking to hack or bootleg.

Again. Thanks batwings and spectragod. Information and knowledge is something I constantly seek.

Thanks

JJ
