CPS ver. R040

Post by BigTex1136 »

Ok this may sound stupid but I have never used this CPS software yet so I just trying to figure this out. Now I am running CPS ver r040 and I just wanted to know if this works on most all of motorola radios? One program to program a bunch of radios instead of having to find the rss for each radio? Like I said never played with it before so I just trying to play catch up on the times

Hate to bust your bubble, but you will need a different software package for just about each family of radio. One package will not work for everything. I would suggest that you be a little more descriptive of the model radio your trying to work with and ask which software package is needed for that radio.

You will also need several different programming cables to go with the different models of radios. It would help to know again which radio you have to determine which programming cable you will need.

You know I am starting to figure this out. LoL I bought an MTS-2000 and it can only be programed with CPS software so I am told. I also bought a ribless programing cable for it as well. Now my question is I have MTS-2000 CPS ver. r02 I have been told that any ver. of MTS-2000 CPS software will work just fine. Is that true? Like I said just playing around. Radios always been a hobby and now that I have little more time and money I just trying to play catch up. Thanks

MTS2000 ver R02 dot what? Last version of MTS2000 CPS is R2.03. Version numbers usually have a suffix. (e.g., R02.00, 2.01, 2.02, etc)
Depending on whatever version of CPS was used to program the MTS2000 in question last, you will need that version or higher. If you attempt to read/write with an older version, you will most likely get the codeplug too new for application message.
