Privacy Plus CSC U48 reprogram?

One of my clients needs to reprogram an EPROM (U48) on CSC board, to change the channels of his Privacy Plus system.
He was told Motorola doesn't do this service anymore.
I can hack the original EPROM and change whatever necessary, but need some guidance.
Is there some U48 dump available for comparing?

I can't help you with that level of programming info but last I heard, Genesis was the only company that could redo PP and SmartNet controller codeplugs. Try here for their info...

was he told this by Motorola? we had to get a new prom for our Smartnet system a couple years ago and all we did was fill out the prom and send it in. a few days later the prom and the invoice arrived. i want to say it cost about 1300.00 or so!

Yep... Motorola doesn't do the Privacy Plus programming on the CSC proms anymore. They licensed Genesis to do that. They may have gone as far as licensing SmartNet as well but NOT SmartNet II or anything higher. I built 2 SmartNet II systems on 900 MHz for a dealer, proms cost about what you said...back in '99 or so, before Nextel started buying all of the spectrum and systems from /\/\..

Just to let you know that after three months pulling all my hair I managed to reprogram this U48 to change the frequencies.
Found like a dozen different checksums inside this thing. Now the site is running on the new frequencies.
